Real Deal Jesus

Please may I ask a favor of you? Before you start reading this, will you commit to read it all the way through? If you only read the beginning you will miss my point.

We have all heard the warnings  about “false revivals” and weird manifestations and gold dust and angel feathers and so on and so on.

And I am here to tell you it is false, there is a lot of junk out there. But it is also true, there is a lot of real supernatural stuff out there. I have seen it, I have seen real miracles and dead people come back to life, I have seen it with my own eyes. But I have also seen lots and lots of hype and manipulation. And it can be really confusing. And confusion is not from God. But He will allow the confusion and the false signs and wonders to mimic the real stuff for a purpose. He wants you to seek out the Real Deal. Because it is only when you have sought it out and know it to be true that you get serious about His Kingdom. Few are willing to give their life for hearsay. They will argue for it, even debate it, but not give their life for it. He gave His life for us and expects the same in return. But when the manifestations of the Kingdom are the focus they aren’ t of  His Kingdom. Because Jesus points us to the Father. And He and he Father are one.

Worshipping and focusing on the manifestations is like falling in love with your spouses shoe. It can easily be put on another foot. Crazy example, but you get my point.

God gives us earthly examples of relationships to mirror the relationship we have with Him.  He is our parent but also our spouse and most certainly our friend. Let us use the spouse example for a minute. If all you ever had from your spouse was a book of letters it would be wonderful, you could get to know their likes, and dislikes, you would know their character. You would easily be able to know the truth about them as far as what they think is right and wrong. But you would not know the sound of their voice.

2The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. 3The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”      John 10:2-5

You learn another’s voice by spending time with them. My granddaughter knew her mothers voice before she was born, because she had already been close to her.  Spent time with her. She cannot yet talk but she knows her parent’s voice.  A stranger could read a letter written by my daughter but that baby would not respond even if it were my daughter’s own words.

Satan knows the Word of God. And he uses it. He quotes it faithfully in every church full of the spirit of religion every Sunday. He tries to tell you all you need to do is read your bible. He quoted it to Jesus and he uses it with ministers everyday.

The gift of discernment is just that, a gift, and all may not operate in it but ALL of HIS SHEEP will know HIS voice. And there is only one way to recognize His voice. Spend time with Him. Be still and listen. If you don’t recognize His voice your are not His sheep. If you have a pure heart and clean hands and have given up worshipping the idols in your life you will hear Him. Maybe not audibly but in your heart. And what you hear will bear witness (agree with) scripture.

I encourage you to find that secret place alone with Jesus, just sit and be still and say, “here I am Lord”.

We watched this movie last night so I thought I would share my opinion. Yep you get my 2 cents worth for free :) . This is the story of the Amish school shooting that happened a few years back. Having a heart for children and seeing clearly the dangers of public school, I pay close attention when I hear of school shootings, and I pray, hard. It truly breaks my heart and this one was no different, I remember it happening even though it was several states away.

I don't know know how closely this story follows the real one but it is believable that it could be close. The Amish folks were not much at all like our real Amish neighbors here in TN but I know there are different sects so who knows. The story line was good but the "realness" could have been much better. The guys appeared to have fake beards and the women had makeup on. I think any actress could forgo makeup to make a part real. But maybe that is just me. The story goes through the process of forgiveness after the shooting that resulted in the deaths of several young girls. And with some it was really hard to do. It brings up good family discussion but in general my crowd described it as "sad". Very sad. And I think they all cried. The actress who played the murderers wife was very good and made you really feel for her character.

Tragedy is sad. All the way around. But when we choose to take matters in our own hearts and harbor unforgiveness we are taking away the sovereignty of God. Judgment is His place. We can judge actions and determine whether they are right or wrong but it is up to God to dole out justice. We have received mercy so we should react with mercy, the rest is up to Him.

Anyway as for the movie, well is was pretty good, not really good but pretty good, and very tastefully done. The movie is family safe, and non offensive (except for the beards, lol) . The subject matter is the only reason you may need to consider whether or not it is appropriate for your family. Without spoiling anything I will say the end was worth sticking through the movie. God wins as usual. :)
